Tips help deputies nab church burglary suspect

The Richland County Sheriff?s Department arrested a man wanted for burglary.

According to sheriff?s deputies, 35-year-old of Quentin Eugene Pendleton was arrested on Congaree Church Road in Gadsden by the Richland County Sheriff?s Department Fugitive Task Force without incident on August 28.

Deputies say Pendleton was located thanks to tips from concerned citizens.

According to a news release, between 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 29 and 8:00 a.m. Sunday, July 1 at Temple of Faith Bible Way Church located at 2850 Congaree Road, Pendleton forced his way through a side door of the church.

Deputies say once inside Pendleton forced open two more doors and stole a computer, monitor and printer with an estimated value of $2300.

Pendleton caused approximately $100.00 in damages to the door frame.

According to sheriff?s deputies, Pendleton is a suspect in other area burglaries, and that additional charges could be forthcoming.

Pendleton was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
