Antioch University Los Angeles Names Four New Members to Board of Trustees

AULA's new Board members bring with them independent thinking and proven leadership skills. They share AULA?s commitment to diversity, academic excellence, and community outreach. The Antioch University Los Angeles Board of Trustees has delegated authority and responsibility for the oversight of the campus. They act as ambassadors to further AULA?s mission in the local and wider community as well as advocate for AULA on matters of public policy. They began service on December 3, 2012 and bring the board?s size to 13 members.

?We are extremely pleased that the University will have the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of these four innovative individuals who recently joined the AULA Board of Trustees,? says Boggs. ?We are confident that our new board members will help us continue to expand the breadth and depth of our social justice endeavors."

Dannelle-Mimi Phan is audit unit manager for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. She serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Los Angeles Chapter, and is its past president. She also serves as a member of the Elevate Ambassadors Council, UCSD Rady School of Management and the Metropolitan Water District Federal Credit Union Supervisory (Audit) Committee. Prior to her work with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Phan served in auditor positions at companies including Vivendi Universal and News Corporation/Fox Entertainment Group, Inc. Phan earned a BS in Accounting from Boston College, Carroll School of Management, and an MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

Elias Lefferman, PhD is president and chief executive officer of Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, one of the nation?s leading child welfare and mental health agencies. He oversees the organization?s residential treatment facility, private adoption agency, foster-care program, autism program, and non-public school, as well as Vista?s four divisions. Lefferman began working at Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services in 1976 as unit director of its residential treatment program. Since then he has held positions in the organization including director, Community Services, and vice president, director, Clinical Services. He has been president and CEO since 2003. He holds a BA in Psychology from Boston University, an MSW in Social Work from Adelphi University, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Cambridge Graduate School.

Sam Roseme is an associate attorney with the Beverly Hills law firm Eisner, Kahan & Gorry (EKG) in the firm?s Entertainment, Media & Arts and Corporate departments. EKG provides business and entertainment legal services to established corporations, start-up firms, production companies, entertainment professionals and high-net worth individuals. Roseme previously worked as an attorney for two international law firms: O?Melveny & Myers and Sidley Austin. He recently helped found a nonprofit organization to support an LAUSD elementary school through fundraising, increasing community involvement, and connecting the school to nonprofits that can provide additional support and resources. Roseme earned a BA in English with a minor in Media from Hunter College, and graduated from Columbia University School of Law.

Salar Atrizadeh is the founder of the Law Offices of Salar Atrizadeh, which handles legal issues in the areas of business, bankruptcy, real estate, the Internet, and personal injury. He served as the president of his law school?s Alternative Dispute Resolution organization and has clerked for numerous prestigious law firms. He has also served as an adjunct instructor at Westwood College and ITT, lecturing on subjects including business law and ethics, e-commerce law, and informational science topics. Atrizadeh is a member of the Cyberspace Law Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Business Law, the California State Bar's Cyberspace Law Committee, and the Internet Society. Atrizadeh holds a BS in Computer Information Science from the University of Phoenix, and graduated from the University of Tulsa, College of Law.
