Koru Village welcomes new fitness instructor and personal trainer Jay Hardin. Jay will be teaching a new class called ?Luck of the Draw? starting in 2013. The class will be Thursdays from 5:30-6:30pm and features fast paced exercises that are based on a deck of cards. Due to the randomization of the cards, no two workouts will ever be identical. Jay is also one of the coaches for Body Resolutions.
My love for health and fitness started at a young age growing up on Hatteras Island. At age 8 I became involved in Tae Kwon Do where I learned values such as self-discipline, respect for others, and work ethic. During high school I lettered in ? ? football, basketball, wrestling and golf while still keeping up with my martial arts and progressing through the ranks. My passion for fitness grew when I attended East ? Carolina University and obtained my Bachelor?s degree in Health Fitness. While attending ECU, I worked in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center as a? ? Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and Weight Room Staff Supervisor. My last semester at ECU consisted of a 13 week fitness internship which I performed at the Golden Door Spa in Escondido California. My responsibilities there included teaching various fitness classes, designing personal training programs for faculty and guests and leading different mountain hikes. Upon completing my internship and Bachelor?s degree, I began working at Vidant Wellness Center as a Personal Trainer and Exercise Technician. I am now excited to be back home where my fitness journey began and eager to help others achieve their fitness and wellness goals at Koru Village!
