[1201244] lp:mir FTBFS: google-mock package not found (even though it is installed)

Mir now fails to build on raring, due to:

You have called ADD_LIBRARY for library 3rd_party without any source files. This typically indicates a problem with your CMakeLists.txt file
CMake Error at cmake/FindGtest.cmake:13 (message):
??google-mock package not found
Call Stack (most recent call first):

Though I do have it installed:
ii google-mock 1.6.0-0ubuntu3 amd64 Google's framework for writing and using C++ mock classes

It works on saucy. Apparently because the "google-mock" package is very different:
??raring: google-mock contains libraries and headers
??saucy: google-mock contains source code

I wonder if it's a particularly robust assumption that all distros will install google-mock as source?
